Come On In...
It’s been a couple of months since I last wrote to you.
And I want to be honest with you that wasn’t me disappearing or dropping the ball.
It was a pause.
A real one.
I needed to step back, get quiet, and listen to what life was trying to tell me when everything else got a little too loud.
And somewhere in that stillness… I found my way back to something very simple.
Presence.
So if you’re reading this, pour yourself something warm.
Let’s ease back in together.
This edition’s theme: The Recalibration
Here’s what the quiet has been teaching me:
You cannot move forward from empty.
So many of us; especially the ones who hold a lot, lead a lot, give a lot - keep trying to push through depletion.
We tell ourselves:
“Just a little more effort.”
“One more push.”
“Then I’ll rest.”
But what actually happens is… we just keep going on less and less of ourselves.
And over time, that starts to feel normal.
The truth is:
The pause is not failure.
The pause is recalibration.
It’s the moment you stop long enough to come back into your body…
so you’re not moving from urgency, fear, or exhaustion anymore.
Because when your system is in survival mode, even your best effort feels like it’s running uphill.
But when you come back to safety… something shifts.
Things don’t feel as forced.
You don’t feel as scattered.
You start responding instead of reacting.
And life stops feeling like something you’re constantly trying to catch up with.
I didn’t pause because I gave up.
I paused because I didn’t want to keep building from depletion.
And I want to offer you the same permission:
Slow down… so you can rise again, but this time from fullness.
Not fumes.
A quote I keep coming back to
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” — Lao Tzu
Your 5-minute recalibration (try this this week)
Nothing fancy here. Just a reset for your system.
Sit somewhere you won’t be disturbed.
Both feet on the ground. Eyes closed if that feels okay.
Breathe in for 4…
Hold for 2…
Exhale for 6…
Do this for a minute or two.
Then gently ask yourself:
“Where am I running on empty?”
No fixing. No judging. Just noticing.
Then place a hand on your heart and say:
“I’m allowed to slow down so I can rise.”
That’s it.
Five minutes.
Not to change your whole life, just to remind your body it’s safe to come home.
A thought for you this week
“I am not behind. I am recalibrating. And I rise from rest, not from running.”
(If this lands, save it somewhere you’ll see it on the hard days.)
Something I’ve been sitting with
When we stay in constant doing, the body quietly learns to live in survival mode.
And in that state, everything narrows our thinking, our creativity, even our joy.
Rest isn’t something you earn after the work.
It’s what makes the work possible again.
📅 What’s coming up
40 Days to Thrive Within
I’m opening a simple 40-day practice.
One small shift a day. Nothing heavy. Nothing overwhelming.
Just tiny reminders to help you feel more present, more calm, and a little less reactive in your everyday life.
It's already running on my stories and we are enjoying it.
And I’m also holding space for what’s next in 2026 deeper, intentional gatherings around healing, nervous system safety, and inner alignment.
I’ll share more when it’s ready.
Before I go…
What I really want to build with you is simple.
A space where you don’t always put yourself last.
Where slowing down isn’t something you “deserve after burnout”…
It’s something you’re allowed to do right now.
Even if it’s just five minutes.
Especially then.
I’ll meet you here again in two weeks.
With love,
Preeti
